Blessing Day

Today was Dawson's big day, and he must've known it when he woke up because he could not stop smiling.  He was the most jubilantly happy baby I believe I've ever seen.  Baby D just laid in bed grinning a gigantic grin to anyone who would pay him any attention, which was everybody in the household once word started getting out.  And the smiles just kept on coming.

We were lucky to have both sets of grandparents in town for the big day!  Corey's parents were here throughout the week for work so we fit in some baseball time and little visits.  My parents zoomed in after work Friday night, arriving Saturday morning only to turn around again Sunday morning!  Whew!  We love them for it though and we were happy they could all be here!  My boys were elated to be able to spend time with them all as grandparents are a treat around here.  Beckett even tried to hitch a ride back to Utah, his one request being that they stop by our place so he could grab his beloved blue bunny, Bubba.  Ha!  Nice try buddy. Corey let him know that he need to finish up with the Kindergarten education first.
The night prior to the blessing we had everyone over for dinner to celebrate since the grandparents all had a day's drive ahead of them right after church.  It was a nice evening with good people and good food. The cousins, as always, had a ball inside and out.

At church, Dawson was such a good baby.  He was wide awake before he was blessed, and I nervously handed him over to Corey when the time came, just crossing my fingers that he wouldn't cry through the whole thing.  Hooray for the little man!  He didn't cry a bit, not a peep. And the blessing was as sweet as it could be.  Corey did a fantastic job delivering a tender blessing on our sweet new baby.  Dawson looked pure and perfect in his little white one-piece sweater too.  Funny enough, all 3 boys were blessed in the same outfit during the first couple of weeks of May.
What a wonderful day for a wonderful reason.  We could not be more thrilled with our newest little buddy.  He fits so perfectly into our family and we already can't imagine our lives without him.   Happy Blessing Day baby Dawson.  We love and adore you to the moon and back.
